Prostate Prolozone™

What is the prostate?

The prostate is a walnut-shaped gland that is part of the male reproductive system. The main function of the prostate is to make a fluid that goes into semen.

Prostate fluid is essential for a man’s fertility. The gland surrounds the urethra (urinary passage) at the neck of the bladder. The urethra (urinary passage) is the tube that carries urine from the bladder to the outside of the body. The bladder neck is the area where the urethra (urinary passage) joins the bladder. The prostate has two or more lobes, and it is in front of the rectum, just below the bladder. In men, the urethra also carries semen out through the penis.

What is Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)?

Benign prostatic hyperplasia is the most common prostate problem for men older than age 50. As men age, the cells of the prostate gland sometimes enlarge. In many cases, this causes the prostate to squeeze against the bladder neck. This can result in problems with urination including:

  • urinary frequency—urination eight or more times a day
  • urinary urgency—the inability to delay urination
  • trouble starting a urine stream
  • a weak or an interrupted urine stream
  • dribbling at the end of urination
  • nocturia—frequent urination during periods of sleep
  • urinary retention
  • urinary incontinence— accidental loss of urine
  • pain after ejaculation or during urination
  • urine that has an unusual color or smell

PLEASE NOTE: The symptoms of prostate enlargement are NOT THE SAME as the symptoms of prostate cancer. For more information on prostate cancer please click here.

How is Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH) usually treated?

The standard treatment options for BPH are divided into conservative and surgical options.

Conservative options include:

  • Medications, including α-adrenergic blockers, 5α-reductase inhibitors, aromatase inhibitors, and numerous plant extracts
  • placement of a urinary catheter to assist with steady emptying of the urinary bladder

These options are not always successful in every patient with BPH.

Surgical options include:

Transurethral resection of prostate (TURP) has remained the gold standard therapy for decades. During this procedure the surgeon inserts an instrument into the urinary passage and cuts away excess prostate tissue, to create space for the urine to flow freely. However, this requires major surgery, and has its own possible complications.

How do we treat BPH at Teshuva Wellness?

The conventional options for the treatment of BPH do not always work for all patients. In addition, the conventional options are often associated with unpleasant side effects and life-changing complications.

At Teshuva Wellness we utilize a safe, novel technique called Prostate Prolozone™ to help reduce the size of the prostate gland. Prostate Prolozone™ builds on the established techniques of neural therapy and ozone therapy.

PLEASE NOTE: The treatment of prostate enlargement is NOT THE SAME as the treatment of prostate cancer. We DO NOT recommend Prostate Prolozone™ for the treatment of prostate cancer. For more information on prostate cancer please click here.
